DALLAS -- Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company, is helping the state of Mississippi’s Medicaid program manage an initiative that encourages the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs).
As part of the federal stimulus plan, healthcare providers who participate in state Medicaid programs receive incentive payments for implementing and using EHRs under the government’s guidelines that demonstrate “meaningful use.” Each state is required to manage the process for providers to apply for and receive their payments.
The Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) has contracted with ACS for use of its State Level Registry (SLR) solution where providers can apply for incentive payments via a secure website. The SLR solution facilitates the State’s tracking and confirmation of qualified applicants, verifies certified EHR use, reduces fraud by ensuring providers meet the threshold for incentive payments and by working in conjunction with the National Level Registry, eliminates the issuance of duplicate payments.

Documents can be moved across digital table top, similar to real sheets of paper on your desk
Grenoble, France -- Imagine being able to find, open, sort, move and review thousands of documents at the touch of a finger. Or how about sorting through millions of documents in hours rather than weeks?
Scientists at Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) have created a prototype “smart document” review system where users can gather around a large touch-sensitive table top display and sort documents merely by moving their fingers across the screen. The interface is as familiar as using your iPhone or smartphone touch screen – but more than a 150 times larger, making it easy for several people to work together.
Developed by researchers at the Xerox Research Centre Europe, the document review technology assists users to quickly group similar documents. Documents can be put side-by-side for comparison, scaled up or down, or piled in a corner of the table, just as real sheets of papers are placed on a real desk, but with all the capabilities of digital documents. And, by simply pointing to a few relevant documents, the user “teaches” the system what information is important. The system then uses this knowledge to automatically categorize and sort millions of documents in a fraction of the time it takes to do so manually.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Analyst research group Quocirca named Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) a market leader in managed print services (MPS) in its European Vendor “MPS Comes of Age” report, 2010. For the second year in a row, Quocirca awarded Xerox a leading position, recognizing its global presence, offerings that extend beyond the office to the print shop and virtual workers, and business process outsourcing and IT outsourcing expertise.
The report, which provides an overview of the changing landscape of MPS across Europe, highlights Xerox’s history of delivering results to businesses of all sizes – and the fact that since 2001, 100 percent of Xerox’s large enterprise MPS clients continue to renew their contracts.
“Xerox’s continued leadership position reflects the fact that larger enterprises are increasingly looking for innovation and business-process improvement as well as cost savings,” said Louella Fernandes, principal analyst, Quocirca. “Xerox’s strong market performance can be attributed to extending traditional managed print services across the enterprise to include the office, in-house production print, as well as complementary offerings in business process outsourcing and IT outsourcing.”
Quocirca expects Xerox will extend its market leadership in 2011 as it deepens its footprint in large enterprise accounts by linking traditional Xerox offerings with those of ACS, A Xerox Company. The return on Xerox’s investment in ACS, which created the world’s leading enterprise for business process and document management, comes to customers in the form of more automation with less paperwork, resulting in faster transactions and simpler business processes – giving them more freedom to focus on their core business.
